A member of the House of Representatives, Hassan Danjuma, representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency of Kano State, is dead.
Saturday Telegraph gathered that Danjuma, a first-time legislator elected in 2023, was reportedly in good health just days before his passing and had attended a meeting at Kwankwaso’s residence in Abuja on Tuesday.
Recall that the lawmaker was initially elected on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) but defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where he maintained close political ties with Rabiu Kwankwaso.

His death was confirmed early Saturday in a Facebook post written in Hausa by Saifullahi Hassan, a media aide to Kwankwaso.
The meeting focused on preparations for the forthcoming ADC State Congress, where party members are expected to elect members of the State Executive Committee.
Danjuma was among five federal lawmakers from Kano who chose not to follow Governor Abba Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC), opting instead to remain aligned with Kwankwaso in the opposition.
His death adds to a recent string of losses within Kano’s legislative community. In December, two members of the Kano State House of Assembly—Aminu Sa’adu and Sarki Aliyu—died within hours of each other.
