JMG Saves N40M with Solar Power Installation

In a move that reinforces its adoption of renewable energy, JMG Limited has installed a 129-kilowatt hybrid solar system at its head office in Lagos, using premium solar technology from Longi and Deye.

The move is saving the company up to N40m in annual diesel spending. In a statement, the company said the hybrid installation combines Longi 575W solar panels, Deye high-efficiency hybrid inverters, and 122.9 kWh of DEYE high-voltage lithium-ion battery storage, designed and managed entirely by JMG’s solar division.

“With the capacity to deliver 15.48 MWh of clean energy monthly, covering 90 per cent of the building’s total energy needs, the project is set to eliminate over 71 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year and dramatically cut diesel costs.

“In fact, the solar system is now saving JMG over 34,800 litres of diesel per year, equivalent to nearly N40m in annual savings,” the Head of JMG’s Solar Division, Hussein Abbas, said.

He said the company is not just promoting clean energy but also running on it. “Our Head Office now leads by example, proving that smart, scalable solar solutions are ready for today’s commercial challenges,” he said.

He added that the system features a smart monitoring interface and dual rooftop and carport mounting for space efficiency and marks a pivotal step toward a greener corporate future.
