Jibril Keana Joins Nasarawa Guber Race


A chieftain of the African Democratic Party (ADC) in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Jibril Sabo Keana, has declared to contest for the gubernatorial position of the state in 2027 with a promise to build Nasarawa State that works for everybody.

He made the declaration in an address at the ADC Secretariat in Keana on Monday, saying his ambition is anchored on Development, Security and Progress (DSP).

Speaking before party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and supporters, Keana, popularly called JSK, stated that his ambition was not driven by personal power, but by a responsibility to restore confidence in leadership and reposition Nasarawa for inclusive and all-around growth.

He said that Nasarawa State has remained a land of promise, yet too many citizens are still waiting for the dividends of purposeful governance in the area of security in their communities, quality education for children, access to healthcare, economic opportunities for families, and unity beyond political and ethnic divides.

According to him, the people of the state are not demanding extraordinary promises but practical governance capable of restoring the core values and improving the living conditions of the people of the state.

Described his ambition as a “covenant of action and purpose” to change the development narrative of the state, through a purposeful governance designed to deliver measurable transformation across the state through an 8-point agenda.

The governorship aspirant said he would deliver governance anchored on Intelligence-driven community security to protect lives and farms, uphold transparency in governance and build digital institutional reforms.

“Completion of strategic infrastructure like the Farin Ruwa Electricity Project and undertaking a statewide Ring Road to connect all local government Areas of the state.

Other projects he promised to initiate to include reconstruction of remodeled primary school infrastructure that includes modest accommodation for teachers, institute fee primary and secondary education with global scholarships for exceptional and indigent students, establishment of a Produce Marketing Board to protect farmers from in-season loses of the value of their produce, and revitalization of Primary Healthcare Centres in compliant with WHO standards among others things.

Jibril Sabo Keana called on party faithful and citizens of the state to unite behind his shared vision for progress.

He said, “I therefore seek your trust, your support and your mandate to build a Nasarawa State that works for everybody; and History will remember this moment as the time we people of Nasarawa State chose courage over comfort and service over self,” he said.
