Interswitch’s Adedamola Ajibola Wins NITA DevOps Award

DevOps and Platform Engineer at Interswitch Group, Adedamola Ajibola, has been honoured with the Excellence in DevOps & Infrastructure Automation Professional of the Year award at the recently concluded 11th Nigeria Technology Awards 2025, held in Lagos.

The award recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skill, innovation, and measurable impact in advancing Nigeria’s digital technology ecosystem. Ajibola was selected for his contributions to building, stabilising, and scaling mission-critical fintech infrastructure that powers millions of daily transactions across Africa.

Speaking on the recognition, Ajibola expressed gratitude to the organisers and highlighted the importance of resilient infrastructure in Africa’s rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

“This award reflects the collective effort to strengthen the stability and performance of digital payments across Africa. I am honoured to be recognised and remain committed to advancing automation, reliability, and infrastructure excellence,” he said.

At Interswitch, Ajibola plays a key role in the engineering and optimisation of several core platforms, including the Switching Infrastructure, Interswitch Lending Service, SmartCard Processing Systems, and ACI-based payment routing platforms. His work has contributed to improved transaction success rates, reduced system latency, faster deployment cycles, and enhanced reliability of services used by banks, fintechs, merchants, and millions of end users.

According to the NITA awards panel, Ajibola stood out among nominees due to his measurable contributions to high-availability systems, DevOps automation, and large-scale platform performance improvements within Nigeria’s financial services ecosystem.

The Nigeria Technology Awards, now in its 11th year, is one of the country’s premier platforms for recognising excellence and leadership in the technology sector. The annual event attracts innovators, executives, entrepreneurs, and organisations shaping Nigeria’s digital transformation.

Beyond his professional role at Interswitch, Ajibola is actively involved in digital skills development and technology inclusion initiatives. He contributes to programmes such as W.TEC, TEV4Dev, and TechNow Global, where he mentors young people and supports individuals with developmental disabilities in acquiring digital and creative skills.

As Nigeria continues to strengthen its position as a leading hub for fintech and digital innovation, recognitions such as this underscore the critical role of professionals building the infrastructure that enables growth at scale. Ajibola’s achievements exemplify the excellence and dedication celebrated at the 2025 Nigeria Technology Awards.
