I’ll Govern For All, Not Just Wunti People, Maijama’a Declares

An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Bauchi State, Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti, has pledged to run an inclusive administration that will serve the interests of all citizens if elected in 2027.

Wunti made this declaration on Monday during a community engagement with residents of Wunti held at his residence in Bauchi.

He stressed that his ambition is not driven by sectional interests, noting that he would not govern solely for his immediate community but for the entire state.

“I will work for the overall interest of Bauchi people, not just my constituency,” he said.

The former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) also ruled out the idea of distributing money to supporters, saying his focus would instead be on sustainable development projects that would benefit the wider population.

According to him, his decision to join the race followed extensive consultations and what he described as a collective call by the people.

“I consider this a call from God Almighty, and I have accepted the responsibility,” he added.

Wunti further outlined his vision to transform Bauchi into a commercial hub in the North-East by creating employment opportunities for youths and reducing unemployment.

He urged young people to embrace entrepreneurship and acquire skills rather than depend on white-collar jobs.

The aspirant also called for unity within the Wunti community and encouraged support for vulnerable members of society.

Other speakers assured him of their readiness and willingness to support him in achieving his ambition of becoming the number one citizen of the state.

The event attracted over 2,000 participants, including elders, youths, and women from Wunti and surrounding communities.

Highlights included donations of money, a vehicle, and an office space to support the activities of the Wunti Development Association.
