HVACR Open In Lagos, To Address Nigeria’s Infrastructure, Climate Change

West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Nigeria opened at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, on Tuesday, marking the debut edition of both events.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Engr Valerie Agberagba, Deputy President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, in the presence of Engr Aluyah Dauda Okodugha, Distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers; Patricia Opene-Odili, Managing Partner, Saide Consultants; Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President, dmg events; Amr Hassan, Event Director, dmg events and industry representatives.

Running concurrently until 9 April, the events connect public and private sector leaders with suppliers, solution providers and organisations aligned to Nigeria’s infrastructure and climate control priorities.

West Africa Infrastructure Expo spotlights the scale of Nigeria’s infrastructure development priorities, from transport corridors and power networks to water systems, digital infrastructure and smart urban environments.

This breadth is reflected on the exhibition floor, with exhibitors including PERI Formwork and Scaffolding Nigeria, KSB Pumps & Valves Nigeria, Primlaks Industries, Sewatech, Esquire Machines, KELM Engineering and SWARCO Road Marking Systems, presenting solutions across digital infrastructure, power, transport, water management, waste and environmental management and smart cities.

HVACR Nigeria, endorsed by AHRI and ASHRAE Region-at-Large, debuts with a focus on the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry, responding to accelerating demand for energy-efficient cooling, cold-chain infrastructure and intelligent climate-control systems across the country. The exhibitor line-up includes key names, such as Daitech (Daikin), JMG (Trane), AHI Carrier, Thermax, TICA Air Conditioning Trading, Airmaster, CIG E Home (Gree), BAPI, DRI Innovate Air Solutions, among others.

The CPD-certified Nigeria Infrastructure Summit opened alongside the exhibition, drawing public and private sector leaders to address delivery, investment and execution across Nigeria’s infrastructure landscape.

The summit opened with a welcome address from Engr Valerie Agberagba, Deputy President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, setting the tone for a programme focused on turning national ambition into measurable progress.

The summit’s high-level panel on mobilising capital at scale brought together Ometere Omoluabi-Davies, Regional Integration Coordinator of the African Development Bank – Nigeria Country Department; Vivien Naidoo, Director at Turner & Townsend; and Femi Awofala, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The African Catalyst, moderated by Oluebube Anele, Investment and Growth Funding Advisor.

The panel examined Nigeria’s evolving project finance landscape, with a focus on de-risking investment, building investor-ready project structures and strengthening regulatory frameworks to attract both domestic and international capital.

In another session led by Vivien Naidoo, Director at Turner & Townsend, the focus turned to aligning infrastructure delivery with Nigeria’s broader economic transformation goals. The discussion was centred on public‑private partnerships, blended capital structures and technology adoption as enablers of faster, more coordinated project execution.

HVACR Talks, the CPD-certified content programme running alongside HVACR Nigeria, commences on 8 April, delivering two days of expert-led sessions on HVACR system best practices, energy efficiency, standards compliance and real-world project insights tailored to Nigeria’s operational and regulatory environment.

“The opening of West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Nigeria reflects the momentum behind Nigeria’s infrastructure development and opportunities,” said Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President, dmg events.

“Both inaugural events have been designed around the real priorities of the market, sourcing credible solutions, engaging decision-makers and supporting the projects already in motion across the country. Over the next two days, we look forward to seeing the connections and conversations that will move Nigeria’s infrastructure and climate control sectors forward.”

West Africa Infrastructure Expo is supported by Silver Sponsor, Turner & Townsend, with Supporting Associations, including Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria, BIM Africa, Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and Nigerian Society of Engineers.
