How Big Baby Boi Is Turning Skit Making To A Comedy Empire

Not many Nigerian content creators can turn a simple street prank into a viral sensation. But Big Baby Boi — known off-screen as Oranefo Uchenna Samuel — has made it his trademark.

In just four years, the diaper-wearing comedian has gone from recording short skits in Lagos neighborhoods to racking up millions of views across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Now, he’s setting his sights on something bigger: transforming his online persona into a full-fledged comedy empire.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP Sunday, he said “I’m not here to play,” he told me, leaning back with a confident grin. “The goal is to build a brand that goes beyond skits — live shows, YouTube series, maybe even movies.”

That ambition is no empty talk. Plans are already underway for a nationwide comedy tour and the launch of a new YouTube project, aimed at turning his loyal followers into a global audience. It’s a bold step for someone who started by acting like a stubborn baby on camera in 2020, but Big Baby Boi insists his journey has only just begun.

“I want people to see Big Baby Boi as more than a character,” he said. “This is entertainment business, and I’m ready to take it to the next level.”

With collaborations alongside Sirbalo, Mr Heelarious, and Realjadrolita, plus a highlight performance at Brain Jotter’s Abuja Show, Big Baby Boi is already positioning himself among Nigeria’s comedic elite. His mix of street-inspired humor, dance, and public interaction has carved out a niche that’s uniquely his own.

If his next moves go as planned, Big Baby Boi won’t just be another viral name — he could become one of Nigeria’s most marketable comedy brands.
