Heirs Insurance Launches Creator Fellowship to Boost Insuran

Heirs Insurance has launched a Creators Fellowship to transform public perception of insurance and boost financial literacy across Nigeria.

The Heirs Insurance Creators Fellowship is a pioneering social impact initiative focused on simplifying insurance education through digital storytelling.

In a statement, the insurance firm revealed that the inaugural cohort of the Fellowship includes Joseph Onaolapo, popularly known as Jay on Air, a radio host and digital content creator famed for his humour-infused, community-centric content, and Oluwadamilola Bello, widely known as Dammy B, a vibrant lifestyle creator known for distilling everyday experiences into insightful life lessons.

The Fellowship, the first of its kind in Nigeria’s insurance industry, is designed to empower content creators to become advocates of financial education, translating complex insurance concepts into accessible, relatable narratives for everyday Nigerians.

According to the company, the Fellowship forms part of a broader strategy to reshape insurance awareness, particularly among Nigeria’s youth, by partnering with trusted voices in digital media.

“We are excited to work with Joseph and Oluwadamilola, both known for their astuteness and shared approach to simplifying complex concepts,” said Chief Marketing Officer of Heirs Insurance Group, Ifesinachi Okpagu. “Through this initiative, we are partnering with both Fellows to normalise conversations around financial preparedness and promote insurance as a tool for financial stability and growth, as well as peace of mind.”

The creators are expected to use their storytelling platforms to demystify financial concepts, making insurance education more relatable to young Nigerians navigating career, family, and digital life.

Speaking on his new role, Jay on Air remarked, “I have always believed in the power of storytelling to drive real change, and being part of the Heirs Insurance Creators Fellowship aligns perfectly with that. This fellowship is an opportunity to use my voice to make finance and insurance feel real, relatable, and necessary for everyday Nigerians.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, Dammy B said, “As a pioneer creator in the Heirs Insurance Creators Fellowship, I see this as a meaningful opportunity to use storytelling and creativity to break down finance and insurance in ways that truly matter, especially for business owners. Protection is a key part of growth, and I am proud to be a part of this.”

The Fellowship builds on Heirs Insurance Group’s ongoing mission to make insurance simple, accessible, and culturally relevant. In 2024, the Group launched The Underwriters, Africa’s first insurance-themed web series, and continues to promote financial education through its Heirs Insurance Essay Championship, which targets secondary school students and their families.

Heirs Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, is known for its customer-first approach and innovative outreach strategies.
