Haaland Hattrick Helps Man City Beat Liverpool 4-0

Manchester City on Saturday evening won another FA Cup quarterfinal in the early start of the game, crushing Liverpool 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium

Erling Haaland’s hat-trick and Antoine Semenyo’s skilful finish gave City the victory they most likely deserved for their outstanding effort.

Nico O’Reilly scored the first goal in the 38th minute by deftly dodging a tackle from Virgil Van Dijk. Giorgi Mamardashvili was sent in the wrong direction by Haaland’s correct conversion.

Haaland then made it two with a powerful header off a whirling Semenyo cross with nearly the final touch of the second half.

After being passed through by Cherki in the 50th minute, Semenyo made it three with a skilful little chip over Mamardashvili in the second half, making things worse for Liverpool.

After seven minutes, Haaland completed his hat trick with a spectacular team play, thumping one in off the crossbar.

After Eric Brook’s hat trick at Anfield in March 1937, he became the first Manchester City player to score a hat trick against Liverpool in 89 years.

Liverpool had their moments, especially with Mohamed Salah, but it was unable to take advantage of any opportunities.

The most obvious error occurred when Salah’s penalty was saved by James Trafford following Matheus Nunes’ reckless challenge that pulled down Hugo Ekitike in the City box.

Salah’s final FA Cup game with the team was a nightmare as he squandered two chances on counters, the kind he was all too frequently buried in during his time at Liverpool.
