Group Pays Homage To Oba Of Benin


The Members of Commodity Market women and men of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter have paid homage to Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, ahead of the 2024 Igue festival, which begins on Saturday, December 14th.

President of the group, Pastor (Mrs) Josephine Ibhaguezejele lauded the support from Oba Ewuare II, who is the grand Patron of the body, and thanked the royal father for his devotion to service.

Ibhaguezejele who was joined by other members of executives, including Princess Edugie Iyamu-Akenzua during the visit, described the monarch as a blessing to mankind.

Also, Mrs Patience Oghariaha, while paying tribute to the Oba of Oba Benin thanked the first-class traditional ruler for delivering them from the hands of their oppressors in Edo State.

“We are here to thank the Oba for bringing us out of poverty and difficulties. You also rescued us from our oppressors in the various markets in Edo State. Our Oba did this for us? We are indeed grateful to God and our revered Oba”, she said.

Mr Terry Ebomwonyi, offered a prayer for the peaceful reign of the Oba, while a palace functionary gave the group a traditional acknowledgement.
