Group commends Oyetola over Akinola’s appointment

A maritime group under the auspices of the Shipping Correspondents Association of Nigeria has commended the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, for appointing Dr Bolaji Akinola as Special Adviser on Media and Communications.

In Wednesday’s release, which was jointly signed by the President of SCAN, Moses Ebosele, and Secretary, Shulammite Olowofoyeku, the group described Akinola as a respected figure in the field of journalism.

SCAN added that Akinola’s input has shaped the status of the Nigerian maritime industry over the years.

According to the appointment, it reflects a profound commitment of the honourable minister to fostering transparent governance and effective communication within the marine and blue economy sector.

“We are highly elated that the minister recognised the importance of having individuals in advisory roles who possess a keen understanding of media and share a genuine passion for promoting sustainable practices within our marine domain. Akinola has consistently demonstrated these qualities throughout his career, displaying a profound dedication to reporting on issues of operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and governmental accountability,” SCAN stated.

It added that as an aide, Akinola’s expertise would enhance public understanding and awareness of the critical initiatives being pursued by the ministry.

“We extend our congratulations to Akinola on this well-deserved appointment and express our eagerness to work collaboratively with the ministry in the quest for a robust marine and blue economy industry,” SCAN added.

Recall that Oyetola, earlier in the week, announced the appointment of Dr. Akinola as his Adviser on Media and Communications, a statement obtained by The PUNCH on Sunday.

Akinola, who is a highly respected journalist and corporate communications expert, brings over twenty-five years of extensive experience and profound industry knowledge to his new role.

He has built a strong reputation for his insightful analysis of the maritime sector and his expertise in strategic communications.
