Gov Yusuf Replies Ganduje, Says You Can’t Intimidate Us

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reacted to the comment made by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje, saying the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) administration is not threatened or scared by the antics hell-bent on taking over the state in 2027.

Governor Yusuf who spoke on Wednesday, January 8 at the Government House in Kano said whoever threatens the people of Kano would face the repercussions.

It would recalled that the presidential candidate of the NNPP in last year’s election, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, had said he would deplete the APC votes in Kano in the 2027 elections.

However, in a quick reaction, the APC Director of Publicity, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, said the NNPP was not a threat to the APC.

Similarly, a few days ago Ganduje, said the APC was the party to beat in the 2027 election in Kano.

Speaking at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum Dinner held in honour of prominent party members a few days ago, Ganduje expressed his surprise at Kwankwaso’s claims of having the people’s support

According to the immediate past governor, who was represented by the State Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Abbas, said, Kwankwaso would not have won any election if not for APC’s internal issues.

“I can swear to God, if not for our internal issues, he (Kwankwaso) wouldn’t have won any election in Kano. This time around, he will see the reality. Those who supported him before are disappointed and full of regret.

“Kwankwasiyya is done, and even the governor is unaware of everything happening around him,” he said.

Responding to the threat, the Governor said, “Let me be clear, whoever threatens the good people of Kano will face the consequences. We are ready, and I will not hesitate to take decisive action against them.

“As for those talking about taking over power in 2027, let me remind you, power belongs to God. It is He who grants leadership, and we pray that He gives it only to those who have the best interests of the good people of Kano at heart.

“We believe in God, and we know that no matter how many people conspire against us, they cannot succeed if God wills otherwise. We will not be intimidated or threatened.

“Our focus is not on 2027. Our priority is to fulfil the mandate entrusted to us by the people of Kano. Our mission is to continue delivering the dividends of democracy and serving our people diligently.

“May God grant us the strength and ability to achieve this and to witness 2027 in good health and prosperity,” he added.
