Gov Radda Condoles With Niger Govt


Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, on Sunday, expressed condolences to the Government and people of Niger State following the devastating flood disaster that struck Mokwa Local Government of the state.

The Governor’s message was conveyed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, and made available to newsmen.

Governor Radda described the flooding incident as a tragic natural disaster that has brought immense pain and suffering to the affected communities, noting that natural disasters serve as a reminder of shared vulnerability and the importance of standing together during times of crisis.

The governor called for the need to enhance flood management systems and disaster preparedness measures across northern Nigeria, particularly as the rainy season intensifies.

He prayed for Allah’s divine comfort and strength for the bereaved families and Nigerian communities against future natural disasters and calamities.

The statement read, “Governor Radda describes the flooding incident, caused by heavy rainfall that submerged the commercial hub, as a tragic natural disaster that has brought immense pain and suffering to the affected communities.

“The news of the Mokwa flood disaster deeply grieves us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this unfortunate incident.

“The Governor noted that natural disasters serve as a reminder of our shared vulnerability and the importance of standing together during times of crisis.

“Katsina State stands in complete solidarity with her Niger State brothers and sisters during this difficult period.

“Governor Radda extends sincere sympathies to His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State, the families who lost their loved ones, and all residents who suffered property losses during the catastrophic flooding.

“The Governor also emphasises the need for enhanced flood management systems and disaster preparedness measures across northern Nigeria, particularly as the rainy season intensifies.

“Governor Radda offers fervent prayers for the souls of the departed, asking Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Aljannatul Firdaos.

“The Governor also prays for Allah’s divine comfort and strength for the bereaved families as they cope with their irreplaceable losses.

“I pray for Allah’s protection over all Nigerian communities against future natural disasters and calamities,” the governor stated.
