Gov. Mbah Lauds DSS Over Arrest Of High-Risk Criminals

…..Pledges continued Support_

Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, has commended the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) for the arrest of high-profile kidnappers and gunrunners in the state.

Governor Mbah gave this commendation during a visit to the agency’s headquarters in Enugu on Monday, April 6.

The daredevil suspects are Kelvin Azodo, David Chukuwnonso, and Arinze Kalu, who, according to the DSS, have been responsible for a series of attacks on security operatives and kidnapping for ransom in Enugu and its environs, noting that residents would finally be relieved of their reign of terror in the state.

The Governor, who expressed dismay at how able-bodied individuals could abandon human decency for heinous crimes, stressed that the full weight of the law awaited the criminals.

He praised the DSS for their professionalism, discipline, and role in ensuring a peaceful Easter celebration while also urging the Command to sustain the momentum in the maintenance of security, which he described as the core duty of government.

Speaking further, the governor expressed particular delight over the arrest of the high-profile gang leaders.

“The good people of Enugu State are grateful for the peaceful atmosphere, especially around the Easter period, brought about through the efforts of the Service and other Security Agencies in the state,” Mbah said.

He expressed confidence that the criminals would eventually end up behind bars and their criminal network disrupted.

“It is your duty to sustain the tempo of security service delivery, as this remains the primary essence of Government and can never be taken for granted,” he said.

While expressing hope that the State would be rid of criminals with the sustained efforts and cooperation between his administration and security agencies, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to making Enugu the safest hub for tourism, business, and living.
