Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has received the National Leadership Award for Best Management of Finances and Education in Nigeria.
He was honoured alongside Aminu Halliru Dikko, the Sokoto Government Chief of Staff, who received the award for Best Chief of Staff in Nigeria.
Governor Aliyu expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating it’s a call to further improve services to the people of Sokoto State.
He highlighted his administration’s achievements, including enhanced security, financial discipline, and free education for all Nigerians in public schools.
The National Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to democracy.
Chief Perry Opara, National Chairman of the National Leadership Award, praised Governor Aliyu as a silent achiever, less controversial, with a proven track record of excellence.
Aminu Halliru Dikko, the Sokoto Government House Chief of Staff, was chosen for the award due to his loyalty and outstanding performance.
He noted that Governor Aliyu has given him ample opportunities to excel, and he believes that if other Chiefs of Staff had the same support, they would also deliver exceptional results.
The National Leadership Award aims to encourage individuals to strive for excellence in their fields and contribute to the development of Nigeria.
The award has various categories, some of which are awarded annually, covering achievements from the previous year.
