On Tuesday, the Governor of Benue State, Rv. Fr. Hyacinth Alia announced a one-week Easter break for the public and civil servants across the state.
The Permanent Secretary (General Services), Godwin Tyolumun Tighil, made this disclosure on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Aber.
In the statement titled “Declaration of Public Holiday to Mark Easter Celebration,” Governor Alia noted that workers are to proceed on the holiday beginning Tuesday, March 31, 2026, and resume work on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

It, however, stated that workers engaged in essential services are expected to remain at their duty posts to handle urgent matters affecting public welfare.
According to the statement, Governor Alia directed that public servants close work by 1 p.m. on Tuesday to commence the Easter break.
The governor also extended Easter greetings to the people of the state and urged them to use the period to pray for peace in Benue and across the country.
