Gov Adeleke Travels To US For Nephew Davido’s White Wedding

Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has departed Nigeria for the United States to attend the much-anticipated white wedding of his nephew and global music sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The ceremony, which is expected to take place later this August, followed the couple’s glamorous traditional wedding held in Lagos in 2024.

LEADERSHIP recalls that the event captured national attention and trended across social media platforms for days, celebrating the union of Davido and his long-time partner, Chioma Rowland.

Sources close to the Adeleke family confirmed that the governor was travelling with other family members and dignitaries to be part of the intimate celebration scheduled to take place in the US. Though the exact location and date remained undisclosed, the wedding is already generating buzz among fans and the entertainment industry alike.

Davido and Chioma’s relationship has been one of the most followed love stories in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape. The couple got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their son, Ifeanyi, in 2020. Their relationship weathered both personal and public challenges, including the tragic loss of their son in 2022, a period that saw the couple retreat from the public eye for several months.

Their 2024 traditional wedding, held in Lagos, was attended by political figures, celebrities, and business moguls. The ceremony, rich in Igbo culture and Yoruba tradition, was widely praised for its elegance and significance. Davido, who had referred to Chioma as “his wife” long before the formal ceremonies, told press and fans alike that marrying Chioma was “a dream come true.”

Governor Adeleke, known for his close relationship with Davido, has often shown public support for his nephew’s career and personal milestones. His presence at the U.S. wedding further underscored the tight-knit bond within the Adeleke family.
