The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, has paid an assessment visit to the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) to evaluate the existing security architecture and to ensure adequate preparedness to deter criminal activities within the University and its surrounding communities.
During the assessment tour on Friday evening, which is part of the engagement, the Commissioner visited both male and female hostels on the campus, where he addressed Students and assured them of enhanced proactive security measures to safeguard their well-being.
CP Bello further advised Students to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or persons to the appropriate authorities for prompt action, adding that the Police would remain on the ground to ensure the students’ rights to stay in the campus for learning are well protected as enshrined in the constitution.
“The Zamfara Police Command under my watch in collaboration with the University management, would stand firm to ensure conducive environments for both teaching and learning are provided, and your lives, property and integrity shall be safeguarded”, CP Bello has assured.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Tukur Adamu, while conducting the Commissioner and his entourage around key strategic locations within the University, reiterated the University’s commitment to strengthening synergy and collaboration with the Police and the other security agencies to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
