Foundation empowers 2,000 Nigerian entrepreneurs

Worried over the high level of unemployment especially among youths, Bright Rays Care Foundation has stated plans to empower 2,000 Nigerian student entrepreneurs in the country.

Indeed, the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics stated that the nation’s unemployment rate rose to 5.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2024, up from 5.0 per cent.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Executive Director of Bright Rays Care Foundation, Amos Ogunola, prioritising youth entrepreneurship is vital to reducing Nigeria’s high level of unemployment.

He added that the Foundation has unveiled the ElevateNext project, a transformative initiative aimed at training over 2000 student entrepreneurs across Nigerian universities to combat the surge in Nigeria’s unemployment rate.

According to him, the ElevateNext project is designed as a cohort-based bootcamp built around a state-of-the-art Learning Management System, a platform featuring a comprehensive curriculum that offers modules on digital skills for business growth, practical strategies for leveraging technology to scale operations, financial literacy, key principles for managing finances, budgeting, and sustainable business growth.

Speaking on this initiative, Ogunola explained that building a sustainable future for young entrepreneurs is essential, and not only that but providing the mentorship they need to succeed.

“Our goal is to create a new generation of entrepreneurs equipped not just to survive but to lead and innovate. With the ElevateNext Project, we are laying the groundwork for sustainable economic growth through education and empowerment,” he said.

He also expressed delight as the Foundation will not alone train the participants but provide funds to support the initiative, ensuring its impactful rollout and accessibility to a wide range of participants.

“I have been able to raise funds on behalf of the organisation to support this initiative. As such, the foundation is committed to promoting entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, which ensures that young innovators have the resources and mentorship they need to succeed,” he said.
