Foundation Distributes Food to 1,000 Nigerian Households

The Margaret Modinat Foundation has distributed food items to over 1,000 beneficiaries across communities in Ogun and Lagos states as part of its humanitarian outreach aimed at supporting vulnerable households.

The founder of the foundation, Princess Olanrewaju Osibote, disclosed this during the outreach exercise held recently in separate locations across the two states. She noted that the initiative was carried out simultaneously in Ogun and several communities in Lagos State.

According to her, no fewer than 500 beneficiaries each were reached in Ogun and Lagos during the exercise. Osibote said the food items distributed included bags of rice, tomato paste, spaghetti, and semovita, which were shared among residents to ease the burden of rising living costs.

She explained that in Ogun State, the outreach was carried out in Ijebu Ife, where residents gathered to receive the food items in an orderly manner. In Lagos State, the foundation extended support to traders and residents in several market areas along the Akowonjo axis, Egbeda, Igando Road, Abaranje Road in Ikotun, Olowo Ira, and Ojodu Berger.

She said the choice of locations was informed by the need to reach low-income earners, particularly petty traders and families who rely on daily income to meet their basic needs.

“We shared food items across communities in Ijebu Ife, Ogun State, and Lagos State. The outreach reached over 1,000 beneficiaries, with 500 recipients each in Ogun State and Lagos. We distributed food items such as rice, tomato paste, spaghetti, and semovita to help families cope, especially during this period,” Osibote said.

She added that the foundation remains committed to supporting communities and spreading hope, particularly during festive seasons when many households struggle to provide food. ”The Foundation remains committed to supporting communities and spreading hope, especially during festive seasons,” she added.

The founder noted that the Margaret Modinat Foundation was established in honour of her late mother, whose passion for humanity inspired the organisation’s charitable activities. “My mother had a strong passion for humanity. After her death, I decided to carry on her legacy of giving by supporting people who are in need,” she said.

Osibote stressed that the foundation would continue to embark on similar initiatives across other communities, calling on well-meaning individuals and organisations to support humanitarian efforts targeted at the less privileged.

Some beneficiaries who spoke during the outreach expressed appreciation to the foundation, describing the intervention as timely and impactful amid prevailing economic challenges.
