FirstBank reaffirms commitment to customers on 131st anniversary

FirstBank, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to customers as it marks 131 years of service.

In an email to its customers on Monday, the bank stated that it remains dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and businesses to achieve their financial goals.

FirstBank highlighted its enduring legacy of trust, innovation, and excellence.

“For over a century, we have remained committed to putting our customers first. Our mission is clear—we will continue to provide the support and solutions that empower people and businesses to thrive,” the mail partly read.

The company emphasised that its journey has been defined by resilience and adaptability, ensuring that it evolves alongside the needs of its customers. With a strong focus on digital transformation and financial inclusion, it has continued to introduce innovative solutions aimed at making banking more accessible and efficient.

Looking ahead, FirstBank expressed confidence in its ability to navigate the future, pledging to uphold the principles that have sustained it for over 13 decades.

“We are proud of our legacy, but we are only getting started. We remain committed to innovation, growth, and fostering strong partnerships that will shape the future of banking,” it added.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, FirstBank broke ground for its new eco-friendly headquarters in Eko Atlantic City.

The bank revealed that it is building a 40-storey edifice set to be the tallest building in Nigeria upon completion and an engineering and environmental delight due to its technologically advanced, eco-friendly and sophisticated construction, which would set a new standard for the financial services sector in Africa.

In his welcome address at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Group, Olusegun Alebiosu, said, “The groundbreaking ceremony is a momentous occasion for us to redefine our commitment to position solidly as the bank for the future. Therefore, this new headquarters is not just about a modern architectural masterpiece; it is reimagining banking for generations yet unborn. It will serve as a hub for financial innovation, digital transformation and operational excellence, ensuring that FirstBank remains ahead in an era where technology is reshaping activities.”
