Firms integrate music streaming with digital payment


Mdundo.com A/S, an African music services firm, has announced a partnership with MiniPay to launch an integrated music service within the MiniPay wallet.

The collaboration allows users to stream music directly within the MiniPay ecosystem while enjoying seamless, borderless subscription payments, the firm said in a statement on Wednesday.

The integration will enable MiniPay users to enjoy a rich, curated music service featuring top African artists directly within the Discovery page of their MiniPay wallet.

The CEO of Mdundo.com A/S, Martin Moeller Nielsen, stated, “A partnership with MiniPay enables us to merge the world of music with everyday financial transactions, offering our users a unique, engaging experience that speaks directly to the heart of Africa’s vibrant music culture.”

MiniPay is Opera’s dollar stablecoin wallet designed to make everyday transactions fast, simple, and secure.

MiniPay enables users to send, receive, and manage money effortlessly and with near-zero fees. With six million activated wallets and a focus on simplicity, MiniPay provides a low-cost solution for holding stablecoins, cross-border transactions, remittances, and more.

By December 2024, Mdundo.com A/S had 38.8 million monthly users across key markets such as Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa.

The EVP Mobile at Opera, Jørgen Arnesen stated, “We’re excited to integrate a leading music service featuring African artists into our stablecoin wallet. This collaboration is a step forward in bridging Web3 convenience with everyday digital entertainment.”

The partnership marks a significant milestone in enhancing digital experiences for users within the Web3 ecosystem, allowing them to access and pay for their favourite services within one app.
