A new pan-African production support company, Africa Fixers, has launched in Lagos to eliminate logistical bottlenecks and make film and media production across Africa more seamless.
The company, founded by Nigerian journalist and producer Obaji Akpet, said it aims to simplify production processes, strengthen local expertise, and provide operational support to filmmakers and media organisations working across the continent.
In a statement, Akpet said the initiative would help unlock Africa’s storytelling potential by providing reliable local access and structured support for productions.
The company said it had assembled a network of more than 100 vetted professional fixers operating across 40 African countries to support film and media projects.
Africa Fixers will provide services such as location scouting, permit facilitation, logistics coordination, crew sourcing, cultural advisory, research, and full-field production management.
Akpet said the platform was created to make production activities in Africa more efficient and globally competitive. “Africa is one of the most dynamic storytelling environments in the world. With Africa Fixers, production across the continent will become easier, more professional, and globally competitive. Producers can now work with confidence, knowing they have trusted experts on the ground,” Akpet said.
He added that the company would bridge the gap between international producers and African professionals while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality delivery on projects across the continent.
Africa Fixers also noted that it aims to empower local production fixers and encourage collaboration among professionals in different African countries while strengthening the continent’s presence in the global media industry.
Akpet, who founded Black Letter Studios and Tell Africa, has worked with global broadcasters and independent producers on several productions and built a reputation for supporting authentic African storytelling.
