Fintech company partners AUATON to ease data burden

Fast-growing African fintech company, payZeep, has announced a landmark initiative to subsidise mobile data costs for drivers during this challenging period.

This is a major step toward addressing the accelerating cost of data purchase for e-hailing drivers under the umbrella of the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transporters of Nigeria and as a response to the growing alarm over skyrocketing mobile data expenses raised by members of the body.

There is already an existing collaboration between AUATON and payZeep, and this latest effort is set to deepen that partnership. It also aligns with payZeep’s mission to empower growth and drive financial inclusion, particularly for Nigeria’s informal workforce. This initiative is designed not just to support drivers but to accelerate the adoption of payZeep’s ‘Smallie’ product and introduce tap-to-pay contactless solutions for e-hailing drivers, reinforcing Nigeria’s vision for a cashless economy.

By leveraging payZeep’s solution, this partnership will bring ease to the daily operations of drivers while enabling seamless, secure, and real-time payments on the go.

Reaffirming payZeep’s commitment to e-hailing drivers, Ayodele Adeluka, CEO of payZeep, stated, “Our commitment to the e-hailing driver community is clear and long-term. These are the backbone of urban mobility in Nigeria. By easing one of their most pressing pain points, which is the rising data costs, we are reaffirming our promise to be more than a payment company. payZeep is here to walk with them, to innovate for them, and to grow alongside them.”

Also commenting, Jolaiya Seun Moses, National Treasurer of AUATON, said, “Our drivers are grappling with rising operational costs, and data has become one of the most expensive tools of their trade.

This partnership is not only timely but also meaningful. payZeep has shown genuine concern and action, and we believe this step will bring real relief and greater efficiency to our members.”

With over 19,000 agents and merchants already in its network, payZeep continues to scale rapidly by offering intuitive, inclusive, and secure financial technology tailored for underserved segments.
