FAAN secures dual ISO certifications for quality management


The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has attained two internationally recognised certifications: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, the certifications were awarded by MSECB, Canada, after a comprehensive and independent audit of FAAN’s systems and operations.

According to the authority, the achievement confirms that its operational processes meet global standards for quality management, environmental responsibility, and continual improvement.

It stated, “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has successfully attained two internationally recognised certifications: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System). The certifications were awarded by MSECB, Canada, following a comprehensive and independent audit of FAAN’s systems and operations.”

FAAN said the certifications underscore its commitment to delivering efficient, safe, and customer-focused airport services while promoting sustainable environmental practices across all airports under its management.

“This achievement confirms that FAAN’s operational processes meet global standards for quality management, environmental responsibility, and continual improvement. It underscores the Authority’s commitment to delivering efficient, safe, and customer-focused airport services while promoting sustainable environmental practices across all FAAN-managed airports.”

The body added that the development strengthens its institutional credibility and positions Nigeria’s airports to compete more effectively on the global aviation stage.

FAAN also expressed appreciation to its stakeholders for their continued support and commended the dedication and professionalism of its workforce in achieving the milestone, reaffirming its commitment to upholding international best practices and continuously improving service delivery across the Nigerian aviation sector.
