Explicit Comm Donates UNILAG PR Lab for Modern Learning

Explicit Communications Limited has equipped the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies, University of Lagos, with a Public Relations and Advertising Laboratory as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.

The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Tunde Thani, an alumnus of the institution’s Mass Communication Department, led the project, which the company described as an effort to upgrade learning infrastructure to global standards.

Speaking at the commissioning held on the faculty premises, Thani said the need to align the learning environment with rapid changes in technology and the communication industry led to the upgrade.

He said, “As the years went by, the world changed, and our industry transformed rapidly, driven by technology, digital innovation, and now, artificial intelligence. It became imperative that the lab be upgraded to meet current realities and prepare students for the future that is already upon us.”

Thani added that the improved Public Relations and Advertising Laboratory now has “advanced laptop links, high-speed internet connectivity, interactive media tools, graphic design resources, print technology and access to mentorship and real-world simulation.” He urged the students to maximise the facility.

Chairman of the event and President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Lanre Adisa, who also serves as the Group Managing Director of Noah’s Ark, advised students to use the lab to build the practical capacity required to excel in their careers.

Dean of the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies, Prof. Oloruntola Sunday, praised Thani for what he called a “great initiative” that aligns with the faculty’s growth since its upgrade from a department to a full-fledged faculty. He urged other alumni to emulate the gesture.
