EncycloAMTs Launches to Solve Aircraft Technician Shortage

An e-learning platform designed to help both young and seasoned aircraft maintenance technicians to learn fast and help them surmount the Federal Aviation Administration and Airman Certification Standards examination hurdles has been launched.

This was made known through a statement signed by the founder of the EncycloAMTs, Air Vice Marshal Moses Onilede (Rtd), on Tuesday.

Onilede is an internationally recognised aircraft engineer with more than 37 years of experience, notably leading Nigeria’s first successful in-country depot-level maintenance of the C-130 aircraft, an achievement that reflects the depth of expertise behind EncycloAMTs.

The global aviation industry is bracing for a severe talent crunch, with a projected shortfall of nearly 600,000 aircraft maintenance technicians by 2042.

The International Air Transport Association confirmed that this may gradually manifest as airline fleets grow and safety regulations become more demanding. The need for a well-trained maintenance workforce has, however, become more urgent.

According to the founder of EncycloAMTs, this e-learning platform has been designed to revolutionise how aircraft maintenance technicians help professionals learn and stay up to date about aircraft repairs across the world.

He stated that EncycloAMTs offers a comprehensive, online curriculum covering general, airframe, and powerplant subjects.

He explained, “Its courses are fully aligned with the Federal Aviation Administration and Airman Certification Standards, ensuring global relevance and regulatory compliance. The platform serves both aspiring technicians and seasoned professionals seeking to upgrade their skills.

“What distinguishes EncycloAMTs is its innovative, learner-focused approach.” Through interactive modules, voiceover lectures, technical diagrams, quizzes, and real-world case studies, including analyses of aviation accidents, the platform makes complex engineering concepts more accessible and engaging.

Onilede added, “The growing library of content is designed not just to train but to instil a culture of safety and critical thinking.

“EncycloAMTs is not just about training; it is about shaping the future of aviation maintenance. By making high-quality, FAA-aligned education accessible worldwide, we are building capacity, strengthening safety, and redefining what it means to be an AMT in the 21st century.”

He added that the platform is attracting users from multiple continents, underlining its role as a globally relevant solution to an industry-wide crisis: “As the clock ticks toward 2042, EncycloAMTs is positioning itself at the forefront of the aviation workforce revolution, one lesson, one technician at a time.”
