Emirates Group grows profit to $6.2bn

Emirates Group, the operator of Emirates Airlines, has posted a profit of $6.2bn for the 2024-2025 financial year, declaring the group the most profitable aviation group globally within the year under review.

According to its newly released annual report, $6.2bn marks the highest profit, revenue, EBITDA, and cash balance in the company’s history.

Emirates made this known through a statement made available to journalists in Nigeria.

The airline, Emirates, contributed significantly with a pre-tax profit of $5.8bn, showing an increase of 20 per cent from the previous year. Its cash reserves also rose by 16 per cent to $13.5bn, further underscoring the airline’s financial strength.

The Group’s revenue climbed to $39.6bn, reflecting an 18 per cent increase, while cash assets rose by 13 per cent to $14.6bn.

Emirates and its airport services subsidiary, Dnata, posted record revenues as the Group expanded its global footprint in response to surging demand.

The Group declared a dividend of $1.6bn to its owner, the Investment Corporation of Dubai. After factoring in the UAE’s new 9 per cent corporate tax, implemented in 2023, net profit stood at $5.6bn.

Commenting on the performance, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, attributed the success to Dubai’s strategic vision and the Group’s relentless focus on quality, innovation, and resilience.

“Dubai’s aviation sector continues to be a global force, built on visionary leadership and execution. This year’s results are a testament to our investments in people, technology, and infrastructure, all aimed at enhancing the customer experience and operational excellence,” Sheikh Ahmed said.

Projecting the 2025-2025 financial year, Sheikh Ahmed expressed optimism, highlighting the planned delivery of 16 Airbus A350s and four Boeing 777 freighters to expand Emirates’ network.

Dnata is also set to open new cargo facilities in Amsterdam, Dubai, and Erbil.

He further said, “Construction is underway at the new Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and surrounding developments in Dubai South, which Sheikh Ahmed said would shape the future of aviation in the region.”

Despite global economic uncertainties, he affirmed that “the Emirates Group is well-positioned to adapt and thrive, setting its sights on delivering even greater value in the years ahead.”
