Egbin Power unveils new housing units for its employees

Egbin Power Plc says it has unveiled 80 new residential housing units for its employees within its plant premises in Egbin.

The power generation company said the development was part of efforts to improve employee welfare and support a stable workforce at its facility in Lagos State.

According to a statement, the new development consists of 40 fully furnished three-bedroom apartments and 40 furnished studio apartments designed to modern standards, with infrastructure and utilities aimed at providing a comfortable living environment for staff and their families.

The project, which was initiated in 2025 and completed in January 2026, is located within the plant’s premises and forms part of the company’s employee welfare initiatives.

Speaking on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Power Plc, Mokhtar Bounour, said the investment reflected the company’s commitment to its workforce.

“At Egbin Power, our people are our most valuable asset. Even amidst the prevailing liquidity and operational realities within the broader power sector, our focus on employee welfare has remained deliberate and consistent.

“This significant expansion of our residential estate is a tangible expression of that commitment. It is one of several key initiatives aimed at ensuring our employees feel genuinely supported, allowing them to thrive both personally and professionally,” Bounour stated.

The company said the housing development is part of broader efforts to strengthen employee support systems.

It added that over the past three years, the company had promoted 112 employees across different cadres as part of efforts to reward performance and long-term service.

Egbin Power also said it operates a training and development framework that includes programmes focused on technical capacity building, leadership development and mentorship aimed at helping employees upgrade their skills and assume greater responsibilities within the organisation.
