Descasio brought together senior female executives from across its enterprise customer community in Lagos to mark International Women’s Day, using an executive brunch to highlight leadership, collaboration and the role of women in driving organisational growth.
The gathering, themed ‘Give to Gain’ in line with the 2026 International Women’s Day focus, created a platform for women leaders to exchange experiences on mentorship, accountability and investing in people as foundations for sustainable business success.
According to a statement on Tuesday, the event convened executives from organisations including Honeywell Group Limited, Finchglow Travels, NGCOM and Eroton Exploration & Production Company, fostering what participants described as an open and reflective leadership dialogue rather than a traditional panel session.
Chief Executive Officer of Descasio, Dele Nedd, welcomed guests at the start of the event, expressing appreciation for their participation before stepping away to allow the conversation to be led entirely by the women executives.
The approach, the company said, reflects its leadership culture of actively supporting and empowering women within enterprise ecosystems.
Discussions during the session centred on practical leadership realities across complex industries, with participants emphasising execution and accountability as critical to building trust within organisations. Data Compliance and Process Automation Manager at Finchglow Travels, Josephine Adebola, highlighted the importance of reliability in leadership, noting that consistent delivery remains essential to translating vision into results.
The conversation also explored curiosity and continuous learning as key leadership traits in rapidly evolving business environments. Chief Operating Officer at Honeywell Group Limited, Tomi Otudeko, said asking questions and maintaining a learning mindset had shaped her leadership journey, adding that empathy strengthens leadership effectiveness by helping leaders understand the broader realities of their teams.
Authenticity and self-awareness emerged as recurring themes throughout the dialogue. General Manager at NGCOM, Helen James-Eziashi, encouraged leaders to remain true to themselves while continuing to grow, while Ifeanyi Onyejekwe, IT Manager at Eroton, stressed the importance of understanding personal values and support systems in sustaining leadership responsibilities.
According to Descasio, the event formed part of a broader effort to deepen partnerships within its enterprise community by creating spaces for meaningful leadership conversations. Umama David-Ogebe, Human Resources Manager at Descasio, said the initiative was designed to go beyond commemorating International Women’s Day by enabling leaders to learn from shared experiences and strengthen professional networks.
To extend the impact of the discussions, the company launched The Give to Gain Leadership Report: Insights from Women Leading Enterprise Organisations, a publication capturing key reflections from the session. The report highlights themes including continuous learning, empathy and accountability in leadership, authenticity and self-awareness, and the importance of investing in people to build resilient organisations and stronger partnerships.
