Dangote adopts advanced technology to boost efficiency

The Dangote Group has embraced technology to enhance efficiency across its operations, reinforcing its position as Africa’s leading conglomerate.

According to a statement, the Senior Advisor to the President of Dangote Group, Fatima Abdurrahman, speaking at the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair, said the company’s digitisation drive has significantly improved its manufacturing and sales processes.

“As some of you may be aware, we have since digitised our manufacturing and sales processes through the deployment of automated and smart systems, particularly in our cement plants,” she said.

Abdurrahman, who spoke at the Dangote Special Day event, explained that tasks that previously took days are now completed in minutes, thanks to the company’s technological advancements.

She stated, “The integrated advanced technology adopted in all our operations—cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, petrochemicals, and agriculture—has made us leaders in all sectors where we operate.”

The company has also introduced the DMS Application, a digital ordering platform available on Android and iOS, to ensure easy access for registered customers in the cement, sugar, and salt sectors.

According to her, the Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria plant has leveraged advanced technology to achieve a daily production capacity of 120 vehicles and an annual output of 44,000 units.

“By assembling globally renowned Peugeot models—such as the Landtrek pickup, 3008, 5008, and 508 GT—DPAN fosters trade by reducing import dependency and providing locally assembled vehicles at competitive prices,” she added.

President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, Ishaya Idi, praised the Dangote Group for its job creation initiatives and sustained partnership with the Chamber.

Idi urged Nigerians to support the company, stating that the Kaduna Trade Fair provided an opportunity for interaction between the Chamber and the conglomerate.

Representing President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Dafang Sale, commended the company for contributions to the economy’s economic development.

Speaking to journalists, the Director-General of KADCCIMA, Usman Saulawa, described the Dangote Group as a key driver of the Nigerian economy.

“The company has not only made a significant positive impact on the business community in Kaduna State but has also contributed immensely to the growth of both the Nigerian and global economy,” Saulawa remarked.

Further, Saulawa highlighted the collaboration between the Kaduna State Government, Dangote Group, and other companies as a major advantage of this year’s trade fair.
