Dangiwa to inspect Lagos housing projects

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, will be embarking on a working visit to Lagos to inspect ongoing Renewed Hope Housing Projects and engage stakeholders on land administration.

A statement by the Lagos Controller, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Funmilayo Olayiwola, on Sunday, disclosed that the minister would be in Lagos for the official inspection and engagement from Wednesday and Friday.

She stated, “The meeting with stakeholders on land administration is slated to be held at the Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State. The minister is expected to inspect some ongoing Federal Government housing estates and projects across Lagos State, such as Banana Island and Osborne Phase I &II, ParkView/ Foreshore, among others.

“Dangiwa will pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

“The Honourable Minister of State, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Marcus Ogunbiyi, and other top officials of the ministry will be on the inspection team with the Minister Dangiwa.”

Dangiwa had in July assured Nigerians of the integrity of Renewed Hope City, a housing project aimed at bridging the housing deficits in the country.

Speaking during the Senate Committee on Housing and Urban Development’s oversight visit to the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and inspection tour of the Karsana Project Site in Abuja recently, the minister emphasised the government’s commitment to delivering quality housing units.

“The project we inspect today is part of the 3,112 Renewed Hope City for the FCT. The 1,000 units under construction would be delivered by December 2024,” he said.
