Coronation eyes wealth creation through CEO forum

Coronation Group, a leading African financial services firm, has announced its return as a Gold Sponsor of the Africa CEO Forum 2025, scheduled for May in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The annual summit, a premier gathering of Africa’s top business executives, government officials, policymakers, and investors, serves as a key platform for shaping economic strategies and fostering cross-sectoral partnerships across the continent.

The group said in a statement that the sponsorship reflects its deep commitment to sustainable wealth creation through innovative financial solutions.

Coronation’s ethos, rooted in craftsmanship and the delivery of tailored, transformative services for African markets, will guide its participation. By supporting the forum, the group aims to strengthen its voice in conversations driving Africa’s economic progress and long-term prosperity.

A major highlight of Coronation’s engagement will be a keynote one-on-one session featuring Chairman, Coronation Group, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, moderated by Chairman, McKinsey Africa, Acha Leke. The session will explore the theme “How can African family-owned businesses shift from survival to legacy and build generational champions?”

The discussion is expected to resonate strongly with entrepreneurs and family businesses committed to building lasting legacies.

“The Africa CEO Forum is a vital platform for addressing the opportunities and challenges facing African businesses,” Aig-Imoukhuede noted. “We are proud to contribute to conversations that empower family enterprises to achieve sustainable, generational success.”

Managing Director of Coronation Merchant Bank, Paul Abiagam, will participate in a strategic panel session on the Cost of Capital Crisis, focusing on how African businesses can transform geopolitical shifts into strategic opportunities.

The panel will include thought leaders from Moody’s, Bank of America, Skykapital, and key public sector figures. Discussions will centre on capital flows, currency volatility, and credit enhancement, critical issues for the continent’s financial trajectory.

Also attending are other key Coronation leaders, including CEO of Coronation Trustees Yemi Sadik, CEO of Coronation Insurance Ghana Yaw Adom-Boateng, and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of Coronation Group Ngozi Akinyele.

Their presence reflects Coronation’s continued leadership across investment management, banking, and insurance, all focused on empowering prosperity across generations.

The Group CEO, Coronation, Wole Onasanya, said, “Our return to the Africa CEO Forum is an expression of our enduring commitment to the continent’s transformation. It reflects who we are, a prosperity partner focused on sustainable wealth creation and legacy building.

The forum offers a space for strategic dialogue, collaborative leadership, and forward-looking ambition, and we’re honoured to support it once again.”

Heads of state and dignitaries expected to attend include President of Côte d’Ivoire Alassane Ouattara, President of Senegal Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

Others include former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, and Prime Minister of Tanzania Kassim Majaliwa, alongside hundreds of CEOs, investors, and entrepreneurs shaping Africa’s economic destiny.

Coronation reaffirmed its mission to deliver African-led financial solutions that unlock the continent’s potential and foster enduring prosperity. The Africa CEO Forum, it said, remains a key arena where ideas are transformed into action.
