Champion Breweries Plc has announced that it has achieved full compliance with the minimum free float requirement for companies listed on the Main Board of the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
The company disclosed in a statement that it received confirmation from NGX Regulation Limited that its free float has now risen above 20 per cent, meeting the Exchange’s regulatory threshold.
Following the development, the Below Listing Standard Compliance Status Indicator previously displayed beside the company’s name across NGX platforms will be removed by the regulator.
Champion Breweries said the milestone followed the successful completion of its Public Offer and Rights Issue, which enabled the company to meet the requirements of Rule 3.1.4 of the Exchange’s Rules Governing Free Float Requirements ahead of the extended deadline of October 31, 2026, as earlier approved by the Nigerian Exchange Group.
The company noted that the completed capital raises, which were approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission, are currently in the final stages of crediting investors’ accounts at the Central Securities Clearing System Plc.
According to the statement, all applicants under the Rights Issue have been credited with their new shares, while crediting for applicants under the Public Offer is ongoing.
It added that the transaction achieved its primary objective of facilitating the acquisition of the Bullet portfolio while also ensuring compliance with the Exchange’s liquidity and free float requirements.
The Board and Management of Champion Breweries Plc thanked the investing community for their continued support of the company’s long-term vision and extended appreciation to NGX Regulation Limited for its guidance as the company works with its registrars and the Central Securities Clearing System Plc to complete the share crediting process.
