CEO Champions Transgenerational Business Growth Strategies

The Managing Director and CEO of Spectrum Holdings, Dr (Mrs) Catherine Adesomoju, emphasised that entrepreneurs are creators who must intentionally start with value and foster others for succession.

Speaking during the recently concluded 2025 edition of Time-Out With Kate, an entrepreneur and business-growth support conference held in Lagos, she stressed the need for business owners to systemise with structures and scale as they grow to achieve sustainability.

The conference, now in its third edition, with the theme “Building Transgenerational Businesses,” attracted over 250 entrepreneurs, business owners, and C-suite executives. Notable attendees included leadership strategist Niyi Adesanya, as well as Goke and Abimbola Balogun, co-CEOs of SoFresh, who provided training focused on business, health, and family life.

The CEO of Spectrum Holdings, parent company of Spectrum Innovation Technologies Ltd and Spectrum Phones Ltd, said, “Entrepreneurs are creators who must deliberately start with value, systemise with structures, scale as they grow, and develop others for succession so that sustainability is achieved.”

In her keynote address titled “From Rich to Wealthy: Building Transgenerational Wealth”, using the acronym R.I.C.H., the Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School alumna described “rich” individuals as revenue-focused, image-driven, cash-heavy but capital-poor, and hustling without long-term integrity or structure.

Expanding the acronym W.E.A.L.T.H.Y., she explained that wealthy people are wise, enthusiastic visionaries, action-driven learners who leverage technology, prioritise their health, and yield to God for guidance in their decisions and enterprise building.

Adesanya highlighted that transgenerational success is built not only on assets but also on transferable mindsets, systems, and structures. Other speakers included Prof. Folu Olatona, Dr Abiola Salami, and Mrs Yomi Adewale.

The free conference was sponsored by His Presence Foundation, a humanitarian initiative where Adesomoju serves as a board member. The foundation also supports educational scholarships, business grants for struggling startups and women-owned SMEs, and charitable outreaches providing food, Bibles, and interdenominational support.
