Cedrus Group Strengthens Leadership with Key Appointments


Cedrus Group Africa has announced the appointment of Group Executive Director, Investment Banking and Asset Management, Oladele Akinjo, and Group Company Secretary and Director, Legal & Resources, Tadeni Balogun.

The Pan-African financial services group disclosed the development on Monday in a statement shared with The PUNCH on Tuesday.

The company said the appointments reflect its commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and positioning the group for accelerated growth and market leadership across its subsidiaries: Cedrus Capital, Cedrus Asset Management, Cedrus Microfinance Bank, Cedrus Trustees, and its issuing house.

Akinjo, a seasoned investment banker with over 14 years of experience, joins Cedrus having led several transformational transactions across Africa’s infrastructure, energy, and financial services sectors.

He most recently served as Senior Vice President at Coronation Asset Management, where he led the successful launch of Nigeria’s largest debut infrastructure fund issuance.

He holds an executive MBA from HEC Paris, is a chartered accountant, and graduated with First Class Honours in economics.

Balogun brings over two decades of legal, regulatory, and governance experience to her new role. She has held senior legal and company secretarial positions in leading public and private institutions, including IBILE Holdings and Nestoil.

A Chartered Secretary and experienced trusts practitioner, she previously managed public trust mandates exceeding N5 tn during her tenure at United Capital Trustees. She holds a law degree from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Laws from the University of Jos.

Commenting on the appointments, Group Chief Executive Officer of Cedrus Group Africa, Olubusayo Adeniyi, said, “The depth of expertise that Oladele and Tadeni bring is exactly what Cedrus needs as we consolidate our vision of becoming a premier, integrated financial services group on the continent.

According to the statement, the appointments reaffirm Cedrus’ commitment to excellence, leadership depth, and the advancement of economic prosperity in Africa.
