Bukka Hut empowers small businesses with annual yard sale

Bukka Hut has reiterated its commitment to supporting small business owners following its annual Bukka Hut Yard Sale 6.0, which was held in December 2025.

In a statement, the brand noted that its 2025 edition, themed ‘One Home, Many Stories’, took place across several Bukka Hut outlets, including Yaba, Anthony, Ogudu and Ikorodu.

Some activities at the Lekki outlet were disrupted by what the company described as unforeseen regulatory challenges. Bukka Hut said it acted swiftly to address the situation by compensating affected vendors and making provisions for their continued participation.

The company stated that it paid each affected business owner at the Lekki location a compensation of N50,000 and guaranteed them slots at the upcoming Bukka Hut Yard Sale 7.0.

Speaking on the initiative, Founder and Chief Executive Officer Rasheed Jaiyeola said the yard sale was designed as a deliberate intervention to empower emerging entrepreneurs and give back to host communities.

He said, “The Bukka Hut Yard Sale was created to empower budding entrepreneurs, as this is one of the ways we give back to the communities we operate in. This responsibility does not stop when challenges arise.”

Jaiyeola added that the company’s broader goal goes beyond food service to delivering measurable social and economic value.

“Our vision is to be a proudly Nigerian brand that transforms lives while creating meaningful social and economic impact through people development, entrepreneurial enablement, and community engagement,” he said.

Bukka Hut noted that preparations had already begun for Yard Sale 7.0, stressing its goal of creating accessible opportunities for small businesses to scale.

The brand noted that the annual event aligns with its strategy to support enterprise development, strengthen community ties and help small businesses thrive despite operating challenges.

It added that the growing acceptance of the Yard Sale reflected the trust entrepreneurs had built in the platform over the years, positioning it as a key support channel for grassroots business growth in Nigeria.
