Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba Umar, has intensified political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging clerics and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sensitise their followers on the need to obtain Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The senator made this call on Tuesday during a special meeting with the Shura Council of the Bauchi State Muslim Parliament and APC stakeholders held at Sulgad Hotel, Bauchi.
Addressing prominent Islamic scholars and Imams, including the Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Imam Bala Ahmad Baban Inna, Senator Buba emphasised the importance of civic participation in strengthening democracy.
He pledged to support the clerics in mobilising their followers to actively participate in the electoral process, noting that informed participation would shape the future of the state.
The senator also reaffirmed his commitment to continuous engagement with religious leaders, describing them as “guides and moral compasses of society.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Shura Council, Sheikh Yusuf Abdullahi Jahun, commended the senator’s developmental projects and urged continued collaboration for societal progress.
Senator Buba donated the sum of ₦10 million to support the activities of the council.
