Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two, has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings.
The Acting Chief Operating Officer, Remi Jibodu, made this assertion at the maiden transport summit organised by JustAlive Communications Ltd. in Lagos, where he was a panellist.
Mr Jibodu highlighted the terminal’s innovations in security infrastructure, stressing that airports must maintain very strong security systems.
“At MMA2, the safety and security of our passengers and their belongings are paramount. We understand that a secure environment is fundamental to the trust and confidence our users place in us,” stated Jibodu, who also doubles as Head, Aeronautics and Cargo Services.
According to Jibodu, there were instances where passengers requested CCTV playback to trace misplaced or forgotten items, and he was pleased to report that all such items were successfully tracked and recovered. “We have a robust surveillance system, a dedicated security team, and a close working relationship with law enforcement agencies. Our security systems are highly effective,” he said.
The moderator of the panel, Mr Segun Koiki of The Guardian Newspapers, corroborated the Acting COO’s remarks on MMA2’s effective security surveillance by sharing his own experience. He recounted how, upon making a request on behalf of an acquaintance who had forgotten her laptop at the airport terminal, the security team promptly reviewed the CCTV footage, traced the movement of both the passenger and the laptop, and successfully identified the exact spot where it had been left unattended. His account underscored the efficiency and reliability of MMA2’s surveillance and security systems.
“This is just one of many instances that reflect the efficiency and reliability of our security operations,” Jibodu said, further confirming Koiki’s account. “Our goal is to provide passengers with a safe and secure travel environment, and we are continuously enhancing our systems to uphold this commitment,” he affirmed.
The summit, chaired by Fola Tinubu, Chief Executive Officer of Primero Transport Services Ltd., also featured the President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria, Alex Nwuba, and the Chief Executive Officer of Aero Contractors, Addo Sanusi, who was represented by Femi Oluwafemi, Head of Sales at Aero, on its panel.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Bamidele Badejo, who emphasised the need for policymakers to commit to a national multimodal transport framework and deliberately build a sustainable transport future through innovation, private sector participation, and strong institutional collaboration.
The summit was also attended by other stakeholders from across the transport sector.
