Bala Wunti Unveils 2027 Ambition, Pledges Jobs, Growth

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bala Maijama’a Wunti, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State.

Wunti made this declaration during a courtesy visit to APC leadership in Bauchi Local Government Area over the weekend, describing his decision as a response to sustained calls from citizens and political stakeholders.

He said his ambition was driven by the need to address youth unemployment and secure the future of the next generation.

“Allah knows, I only accepted to contest because of the pressure mounted on me to help rescue the future of our unemployed youth and safeguard the next generation,” he stated.

The aspirant pledged to run an inclusive and transparent administration focused on youth empowerment and economic development.

During the visit, the Coordinator of the Bala Wunti Movement, Yahaya Mohammed Miya, formally introduced him to party stakeholders, noting that the engagement was aimed at strengthening unity within the party.

The APC Chairman in Bauchi Local Government, Biyali, described Wunti as a seasoned philanthropist whose contributions to human capital development have positively impacted many lives.

At the state secretariat, the APC Chairman, Muhammad Hassan Tilde, welcomed Wunti and assured aspirants of a fair and transparent process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Political observers say Wunti’s declaration signals the early build-up to what is expected to be a keenly contested governorship race in the state.
