Nigeria’s former Vice President and Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday, 1 April, 2026 held a high-level meeting with former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to discuss the progress of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the future of governance in Nigeria.
Atiku disclosed this in a post shared on his official social media platform, noting that the meeting took place during a courtesy visit to Kwankwaso’s residence.
According to him, the discussions focused on strengthening the ADC and exploring strategies to ensure effective governance and national recovery in the near future.

“I paid a courtesy visit to the residence of my brother and partner, His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso, @KwankwasoRM, this afternoon.
“We had quality discussions on the progress of our party, the ADC, and how we must continue the work to ensure good governance and recovery are achieved in good time for the people,” Atiku wrote.
The meeting comes amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It will be recalled that Kwankwaso, former leader of the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party (NNPP) defected to the ADC on Monday, 30 March, 2026.
