Atiku Can Win Presidency At 90 Years

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has said God can still make the former presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Atiku Abubakar, a Nigerian President at the age of 90.

Akume made this remark while cautioning political bigwigs from the North against contesting with President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking on TVC on Sunday, the SGF insisted that 2027 is still the turn of the South to produce a president.

Akume appealed to Nigerians to allow the bills to scale through the required legislative processes.

The former Benue State governor also said Tinubu has not lost the goodwill of Nigerians as a result of tax reform bills and other strategic economic decisions taken.

“They are well-envisioned for Nigeria and Nigerians,” he added.

In the past, Atiku had severally contested to be president but lost. In 2023, Atiku came second behind President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

But, some of his aides, like Segun have said the former Vice President was yet to make his intentions on running for the presidency in 2027 known.

Sowunmi had said: “In any case, Atiku has not told anybody in clear terms that he’s going to run; I have asked him twice with months in between.”
