Aradel Boosts Nigeria’s Domestic Gas Supply with NLNG Deal

Aradel Holdings Plc has reaffirmed its alignment with the Federal Government’s gas reforms and domestic energy agenda with the signing of a Gas Supply Agreement to deliver additional gas volumes to Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited.

The deal, signed through Aradel Gas Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, is executed via the Shell Nigeria Gas and NNPC Gas Marketing Limited partnership.

According to a statement by the company, the agreement represents “a major boost for Nigeria’s energy transition agenda and supports the Federal Government’s gas reforms aimed at strengthening energy security whilst driving economic growth.”

Aradel noted that it has consistently invested in infrastructure to unlock the full potential of its assets, pointing to its 100 million standard cubic feet per day gas processing plant commissioned in 2012.

Through the facility, the company said it harnesses and commercialises gas resources, “contributing to domestic gas supply and cleaner energy.”

Aradel also highlighted its environmental record, stating that it has eliminated routine gas flaring at the Ogbele facility since 2012, and recalled that it was the first non-JV gas supplier to NLNG.

Commenting on the latest agreement, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Aradel Holdings Plc, Adegbite Falade, said, “We are happy to sign an agreement that guarantees the supply of additional gas volumes to NLNG through the SNG-NGML Partnership. As the energy landscape continues to evolve, natural gas remains central to our growth strategy and the broader transition to cleaner energy. At Aradel, our expansion plans are closely aligned with the Federal Government’s initiatives on domestic gas supply, energy transition, and the leverage of gas for Nigeria’s industrial growth.”
