APC Welcomes Proliferation Of Tinubu Support Groups In Ondo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described as a welcome development the proliferation of support groups working for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.

There are not less than seven different support groups with offices in the state canvassing support for the reelection of President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Steve Otaloro, said the growing number of Tinubu and APC support groups springing up across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections showed the dominance of the party in the state.

Otaloro said the party views this development as a clear testimony to its enduring dominance in the political landscape of the state and a strong indication of the widespread support and affection President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to enjoy among the people.

According to him, the party recognised the groups as expressions of political enthusiasm and loyalty rather than acts of defiance or rivalry, saying their activities reflect the people’s confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and their readiness to stand firmly with the APC as the preferred political platform in the state.

He said, ” As long as the activities of these groups remain within the framework of the law, particularly in compliance with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines which prohibit premature campaigns, they are free to operate as internal caucuses within our party.

“It is also understood that at the appropriate time, all the groups will unite under one coordinated umbrella to be led by the State Governor and leader of the party, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for the 2027 presidential campaign in Ondo State.

“The APC wishes to emphasise that these groups do not in any way overshadow the structure of the party. On the contrary, their existence enriches our internal democracy and strengthens our grassroots mobilisation.

“The party remains focused on the forthcoming congress, which is currently our top priority. All our energies are directed toward ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and successful congress that will further consolidate our unity and internal cohesion.

“We also wish to clarify that there are no aggrieved members within the Ondo State chapter of the APC. Our political platform remains solid, and under the capable leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, the party continues to attract new members from other political parties in droves.

“What some may misinterpret as internal conflict is simply healthy political rivalries among supporters of aspiring candidates for future elective positions, an expected feature of any vibrant political organisation.

“The party therefore urges all members and support groups to continue to conduct themselves with decorum and discipline, ensuring that their consultations and engagements remain within the bounds of party regulations and electoral laws.

“When the time comes, all support groups will collapse their structures into the official campaign machinery of the APC for the 2027 general elections in Ondo State.

“The APC remains unwavering in its commitment to unity, progress, and the continued consolidation of good governance under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.”
