APC Nomination Form Payments Non-Refundable – Morka

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, on Friday, said payments made for the show of interest and nomination forms for party positions are generally non-refundable.

Morka, who spoke on Friday on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, noted that aspirants are expected to understand the requirements of the positions they seek before making payments.

According to him, the party presumes that applicants are aware of the eligibility criteria, including the appropriate constituencies tied to the offices they contest.

He, however, acknowledged that there have been instances in the past where the party approved refunds under exceptional circumstances.

He added that while refunds are not the norm, affected individuals can formally request reimbursement, which would be considered by the party on a case-by-case basis.

He said: “You know, normally, ordinarily, these payments for expression of interests and nomination forms are not refundable. I mean, there are fees paid in the process because, you know, the party assumes, and you are presumed to know what you’re applying for.

“So if you apply for a position that’s not in your district, you know that’s really on you.

“But you know, I’m aware in the history of our party that there have been occasions where the party had to make refunds, you know, on just some special considerations to those who paid this money.

“So I don’t rule that out, if the individual affected or concerned would make a request for, you know, a refund. I’m sure that will be given due consideration by the party.”
