APC National Scribe Sympathises With Victims Of Rainstorm’s Disaster In Osun

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Ajibola Basiru, has expressed and extended his deepest empathy to persons and families touched by the rainstorm that wreaked havoc last night in Osogbo and elsewhere.

Basiru, in a statement shared on his Facebook page, regrets that the heavy rain expected to be blessings after periods of searing heat eventually brought anguish, tears and loss to homes, businesses and public utilities.

He explains that vagaries of weather are natural phenomena all over the World, which no reasonable individual should play politics with since they are indiscriminate and unavoidable.

“I stand in solidarity with the victims of the destruction. I feel their agony, physical and psychological torment, just as I share in their heartbreak.”

“I pray God grant affected families and individuals succour, restoration and speedy recovery from the distress. It’s only the victims who know where the shoes pinch now. I pray for resilience and fortitude as they navigate the dark time.”

Dr Basiru charges the casualties in whatever form and dimension to remain hopeful and not despair, just as he prods appropriate government agencies to rise to the occasion.
