The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement was reached on Monday during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held in Bauchi, attended by key party leaders, elders and supporters across the state.
The meeting, convened to strengthen internal cohesion and position the party ahead of the 2027 polls, was led by the Minister of Health, Muhammad Ali Pate. At the meeting, Pate formally moved the motion for Tinubu’s endorsement, which was unanimously adopted by stakeholders.
Speaking at the gathering, former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, urged members of the party and residents of the state to rally support for the president’s re-election bid, stressing the need to consolidate on the gains of democracy.
Yuguda expressed optimism that a second term for Tinubu would bring more dividends of democracy to the grassroots, including job creation and expanded economic opportunities for youths.
Other speakers, including Muhammad Ali Pate and former governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, described Tinubu as the best candidate for the country, citing what they termed his achievements since assuming office.
They highlighted projects such as the upgrade of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) and the construction of road networks across various parts of the country, particularly in the North-East.
A chieftain of the party, Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti, also called for unity among members, noting that cohesion within the party would be critical to securing victory in 2027.
Represented by Alhaji Adamu Fanta, Wunti reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the APC in Bauchi through grassroots mobilisation and collaboration with party stakeholders.
According to a statement by the Chief Communication Officer of the Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO), Abubakar Al-Sadique, the meeting ended with a renewed call for unity, cooperation and sustained support for the party.
The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, before proceeding to the venue of the event.
