Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa yesterday fired his Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants. In a statement, he said the sacking was to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery.
The statement said: “The governor thanked them for their contributions to the development of the State thus far and wished them well in their future endeavours.
“In a step to strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity into the administration, about 1,000 new aides, from across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of the State, will be appointed by the governor in due course.”
Meanwhile, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Kayode Ajulo advised civil servants and political officeholders seeking elective office to resign.
According to him, his advice was in line with his constitutional responsibility. He said the purpose of the directive was to ensure clarity, promote transparency, uphold the neutrality of the public service, and prevent any risk of disqualification or legal challenges for public officers who may wish to participate in the electoral process ahead of the 2027 general election.
