The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has officially commenced activities for the 2026 Police Week Celebration with a statewide sanitation exercise and medical outreach programme designed to promote public health and reinforce community partnership across the State.
The sanitation exercise was carried out across the Command, where officers and men actively participated in cleaning markets, roads and other public places.
The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, led Officers of the Command to selected locations for the sanitation exercise.
He noted that the activities form part of efforts to deepen community engagement and promote the spirit of service in line with the objectives of the Police Week celebration.

The initiative highlights the Command’s commitment to community service and its resolve to contribute to a cleaner and safer environment.
As part of the activities, the Command also rolled out a medical outreach programme in the State. The outreach provided members of the public with access to free medical consultations, basic health screenings, and distribution of essential medications.
The programme is aimed at supporting the health needs of residents and strengthening the bond between the Police and the communities they serve.
The CP encouraged residents to sustain clean and healthy environments, emphasising that collective responsibility and cooperation remain critical in building safer communities. He further reiterated the Command’s commitment to people-oriented policing and initiatives that foster trust, mutual respect, and collaboration with the public.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command reassures the good people of the State of its continued dedication to protecting lives and property, while strengthening partnerships that support peace, security, and community development.
