ADVAN to unveil awards for marketing excellence

The Advertisers Association of Nigeria has unveiled plans to host its annual African Awards for Marketing Excellence, spotlighting innovation and impact in the marketing industry.

The event, slated for February 22, 2025, in Lagos State, will bring together top marketing professionals, government officials, and Chief Executive Officers of multinational corporations.

ADVAN, in a statement, hailed the event as Africa’s premier marketing award, adding that the ceremony will spotlight innovation and impact within the industry.

With the theme ‘Controlled Chaos: Mastering Marketing in a Hyper-Connected World,’ ADVAN stated that the 2025 edition aims to address the challenges of fragmented consumer attention, unpredictable market trends, and digital content overload.

Chief Marketing Officer of Tolaram Group and Chairman of the Awards Planning Committee, Manpreet Singh, highlighted the changing landscape of marketing, remarking, “We live in an era where consumer attention is fragmented like never before. Traditional marketing playbooks have become outdated, and new strategies—while promising—often feel like a trial-and-error game.

“Yet, some brands consistently cut through the clutter by embracing unpredictability, staying agile, and experimenting relentlessly while remaining authentic and human.”

The awards planning committee includes key industry professionals such as the Head of Marketing Communications, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Sandra Amachree, and the Business Manager, Nestlé Plc, Funmilayo Osineye, alongside ADVAN Executive Council members.

Further, ADVAN noted its 2025 edition will introduce new award categories, including Best Use of AI, which will recognise brands leveraging artificial intelligence for innovative campaigns.

The association added it will give out an Industry Builder Award to honour top entrepreneurs and CEOs driving economic growth and Public Sector Brand of the Year to celebrate government agencies effectively using perception marketing to promote policies and build sustainable brands.
